Bi-Metal Blade Break-In Procedure
To achieve maximum blade life the teeth of the blade must first be rounded over at the tips through a very deliberate "Break-In" procedure. If this procedure is not followed the tips of the teeth may fracture.
1. Select the proper blade speed or surface feet per minute (sfpm) for the material to be cut.
2. Reduce the recommended feed rate for what you are cutting by 50%.
3. Saw at the reduced feed rate for the first 5 minutes.
4. Slowly increase from 50% of normal feed speed to 100% over the next 10 minutes.

Material Clamping
Proper material clamping will substantially contribute to your sawing operation. Please note the difference in clamping techniques when using a Hinge type/Conventional saw versus a Horizontal/Double Column saw.

Blade Lubrication
Proper blade lubrication is critical to overall blade life and performance. Lubrication will reduce heat and friction at the tooth tip, when applied properly, allowing the tooth to easily penetrate and remove material. Consult the lubricant manufacturer for proper fluid ratio. Most but not all ferrous metals require lubrication; if unsure consult the material manufacturer.

Cutting Data – Speed and Feed
Recommended Speeds and Feed rates listed below will vary depending on the thickness of the material being cut, blade lubrication and material hardness. For more specific recommendations contact our Technical Service department at 800-234-7297 or info@timberwolfblades.com
